Text: Julia Margaret McCormick daughter of Alonzo McCormick and Mary King. I have some King cousins..and I am also looking for information on Julia's sister Bertha Leila McCormick...she married Wesley M Sharp on October 30 1907 in Homer Nebraska...Wesley Sharp is a 1st cousin to my Grandfather Ralph Smith. My Grandfather came to Canada from Nebraska in 1906. He travelled with a family named Orr. The next year his parents and brothers joined the Kings and Orrs and all settled at Hardisty Alberta. William M King ...Mary King's father had come up to Canada a short time before my Smiths and the Orrs. The information I have on Bertha Leila McCormick comes from my second cousin Merle King and his wife Ida. They still live at Hardisty on the original Alberta homestead. My grandfather made one sentimental journey home to the states in 1955 and visited Wesley Sharp and his wife Bertha I have two photos from that visit and will include the one of Wesley and Bertha...according to Ida...Bertha was born April 3 1891 and died October 23 1981 and is buried in the Omaha Valley Cemetery at Homer. She married Wesley on October 30 1907. They had two daughters Helen who married a man named Ash, and Flossie who married a man named Skidmore. Any information on them would be greatly appreciated. My Grandfather Ralph Elmer Smith was the son of Charles Fremont Smith and Eve Ann Sharp...the Smiths moved to Dakota County Nebraska in about 1896 from Nodaway County Missouri. Eve Ann Sharp had 3 brothers that lived in Dakota County...Isaac Sharp Wesley's father, and Monroe Sharp, and Henry Powell Sharp. My Grandfather married Olga Victoria Bergquist and Austin Joel King married Bessie Emily Bergquist Olga's sister...Austin Joel King was a son of William M King ...a half brother to Mary Alida King who married Alonzo McCormick. I would be very interested in information regarding Smiths Sharps Kings Orrs and McCormicks in Dakota County Nebraska
