Riv Hill, age 45, widowed, born February 1855, with an occupation as Fisherman, living in a house, and not on a farm. Enumerated with daughters Agnes, 16, born May 1884; Mary, 8, born January 1892; Lucrean, 11, born December 1888, and Lucy , 6, born June 1894. All the children show as being born in Illinois as well as Riv. On the same Sheet 12, there is a William Hill, 21, servant, with occupation of farm laborer, born March 1879, in Illinois, living on a farm. He is enumerated with a Charles and Mattie Johnson, listed in the previous household.

1910 Federal Census, April 28, 1910, New Haven Township, Gallatin County, Illinois, SD 75, ED 27. James Oliver, 28, married 3 years and born in Virginia as were his parents; his wife, Agnes, 27, she and her parents born in Illinois, married for 3 years, and only one child; daughter Jessie M., 13 months old and born in Illinois. Riv Hill, father-in-law, [making him the father of Agnes], 56, born in Illinois as his parents are enumerated with James.

Marriage Certificate, Gallatin County, Illinois, Book 3, Page 45. James M. Oliver, aged 24, married Agnes Hill, aged 22. Both were living in Inman, Illinois. Married by N. A. Frier, a Police Magistrate on December 24, 1906 in Shawneetown, Gallatin County, Illinois. The Return of Marriage Certificate says that James was born in Lynchburg, VA, mother's maiden name was Anna Williams and father's name was Richard Oliver. [Someone afterwards wrote in "Wm."]; Agnes was born in Gallatin County, IL, her mother's name was Ella Murphy and father's name was Riv Hill. This was the first marriage for both James and Agnes and both are shown as White and race is American.

1930 Federal Census, Shawswick Township, Bedford, Lawrence County, Indiana. James Oliver, 48, married 24 years, born in Virginia as were his parents. Wife is Agnes, 47, she and her parents born in Illinois, married 23 years and have 5 children: Jessie M., 21, born in Illinois; Loren, 17, born in Illinois; Dorothy E., 15, born in Indiana; Roy M, 12, born in Indiana, Robert E., 6, born in Indiana.

Obituary from the Bedford Daily Times-Mail, Bedford, Indiana, November 5, 1966, Page 2, column 1:
Agnes Oliver, 502 I Street, died at 10:00 a.m. yesterday at Cobb's Nursing Home following an illness of two years. She was born in Shawnee Town, Ill. on Nov. 4, 1884, the daughter of Mary Murphy and Ferdinand Hill. She was married to James M. Oliver in early life at Ridgeway, Ill. He preceded her in death in 1935. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Jack (Dorothy) Bunch of Bedford, three sons, Loren Oliver of Indianapolis, Ray Oliver of Anderson and Robert E. Oliver stationed with the U. S. Air Force in England; 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and several nieces and cousins. A daughter, Jessie M. Hobson, preceded her in death on March 6. Rev. John Flockhart will officiate at funeral services for Mrs. Oliver on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the Ferguson - Lee Funeral Home. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4:00 p.m. today.
